Google Developer Groups (GDG) India is a community-driven network of 50+ city chapters across India where developers, designers, and tech enthusiasts learn Google technologies, build projects, and grow together.
Where India’s developers come together to learn, build, and lead.
Google Developer Groups (GDG) India is a grassroots network of over 50 active chapters spanning every major Indian city — from Bengaluru to Bhopal, Chennai to Chandigarh. Each chapter is independently organized by local developer leaders, with support from Google, to create hyper-local learning experiences that are relevant, accessible, and free.
What GDG India Offers
- Regular tech meetups — Hands-on workshops, hackathons, codelabs, and tech talks covering Android, Flutter, TensorFlow, Google Cloud, Firebase, Kotlin, and more.
- DevFest — India’s largest developer conference — Annual flagship event organized by GDG chapters across the country, featuring Google Developer Experts (GDEs), industry leaders, and hands-on sessions.
- Google I/O Extended — Local watch parties and satellite events that bring the global Google I/O experience to Indian developers.
- Women Techmakers — Dedicated programs and scholarships to support women in tech, including career workshops, mentorship circles, and leadership talks.
- Student-focused programs — Many GDG chapters run study jams, cloud bootcamps, and summer of code programs specifically for students and early-career developers.
GDG India is where India’s developer community was born online and nurtured into a real-world movement. With thousands of events and millions of developer hours invested, it remains the single largest and most accessible tech community in the country.
